The Gift

I have received a great gift here lately. You probably already know what it is, but it was something I needed right now. I have been waiting on it for years. God gave it to me to bless others with; just in the last 2 weeks, I had a 60 year-old woman, whom I didn't even know, tell me it was beautiful. I have never had that happen before; I almost teared up.

I have already explained to you all how I am such a manly-man, so I probably don't need to tell you again. I am going to anyway. I have had some great men in my life, and they set me on this course. But, I will see it through to end. Even as a child, I knew I was destined for great things. When 3 year old me drank a cup of dip spit, I knew… great, manly things. I tried to tell people that I had been called to do something that no man from my family had ever accomplished, but they would not listen. They do now. Those of you that have seen me lately already know what I am about to say. My beard is off the chain.

I have always had a killer mustache, but I was never able to get a good filling of hair on the rest of my face. It was debilitating to know that I was so close to reaching my dreams only to have a stranger call me “Irish Tom Selleck” one day.

“Yeah buddy keep talking and watch me ‘Quigley you down-under;”, is what I should have said. I couldn’t though, because I was beardless. That was when I knew that until my beard came in that I was not going to be able really reach my calling. If all people saw was my stache, how were they ever going to see Bardin? I am a lot of things, but I am not a mustache guy. I just don't think it fits my personality. I also thing its strange that as we do a deep dive into my personality, I tell you about a beard. Things aren't normal, but at least, they are good.

I knew the Bardin that resided deeper than my facial skin had a killer beard. I knew that until I could grow one people would not hear me. Thankfully, after 33 years, I have finally figured out how to properly groom myself (say whatever it is you are thinking, and get Quigleyed). Like most incredibly manly men, I don’t learn anything fast, but I do learn some things, eventually.
